In this song the church influence is easily perceived. It is plain to see the manner in which the hymn is used to instruct people on theological doctrines. It is worth mentioning the fact that as Yuletide vernacular traditions have gradually died away throughout the French Basque Country, Iparralde, the religious ceremonies and songs have been reinforced. Same as was the case of the previous carol, this one too is widely known in Lapurdi, Nafarroa Beherea and Zuberoa, in the respective dialect spoken in each of the territories. This is the version that appears in the local song books for church services.
