Besides the songs and dances represented during the Maskarada, there are in our culture a good many ancient and more modern laugh-proking Carnival songs.

This one is from Zuberoa, although Azkue gathered it in Nafarroa as well. It is about cat eaters, quite a popular topic, and in the last stanza we are even told the date when the song was printed.
